The upcoming weeks are filled with events – yes, most of them involve shopping and eating, but be sure to enjoy some time in your hometown of Oceanside! One way to do that, if you’re a Fire Mountain resident is to join us for the 4th annual Holly Jolly on Molly happening December 8th, 5:00- 9:00 p.m. on the Molly Circle cul-de-sac. Bring a desert or appetizer to share and be sure to dress warm and bring a chair.
Don’t forget the Oceanside Turkey Trot – Move Your Feet Before You Eat! There are still spots available and a kids 1 mile run is open to kids in all different age categories. The entry fee is reasonable and proceeds benefit local schools – pick Palmquist or Lincoln to support Fire Mountain schools! If nothing else, get out and support your neighbors and enjoy the weather before settling in for the food marathon.
If you plan to shop, skip Black Friday and head out on Small Business Saturday! If you shop with your Amex card and spend $10 at a participating small business, you’ll get that $10 back & that includes local restaurants! Find a list of those businesses here. Even if you aren’t an Amex customer, there are a ton of great small businesses in Oceanside where you can find good food, an outfit for your holiday party, get your car fixed, find a nice pipe, decorate your holiday table or just pick up a hot cup of coffee by the beach…whatever it is you’re into, just be sure to support your neighborhood shops.
Also happening next week is the Friends of Fire Mountain Networking Group meeting. The meeting will be held December 3, 2013 at 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Café Rosarita – 1816 Oceanside Blvd. Oceanside, CA 92054. The last meeting was a great informative gathering of business-minded neighbors and we look forward to working together to make Fire Mountain a great place not only to live, but to do business. Food will be available (eat local!) and we’re excited to see you there!
