National Children’s Study Focuses on Oceanside

A nationwide study has just launched in San Diego and Oceanside, specifically large parts of Fire Mountain will be included in the study.

The National Children’s Study is the largest longterm study of health and development ever conducted in the United States.

The study will help us to identify what is harmful, what is harmless, and what is helpful to child health and development.  We will learn important facts about many diseases or conditions that are

becoming more common among our children, including:

  • Pregnancy related problems
  • Birth defects
  • Injuries
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes and Obesity
  • Autism
  • Behavioral and  learning disorders

The study recently held a meeting at the Oceanside El Corazon Senior Center. Look for more information on the National Children’s Study website.
